Post Mortem for "Wanted"
Wanted in its basic status is up, things that need to be addressed...
- Gaining Reputation
- Deeds
- Factions
- Tweaking Modifiers
Gaining Reputation: This one is a no brainer as we're tying reputation directly to level. When characters level up, their reputation will rise as well, so this will be addressed with the "Waypoints" expansion. At the moment we're planning a 1 for 1 ratio.
So Level 1 = Rep 1 and Level 12 = Rep 12.
As I said a no brainer.
This does limit our character advancement trajectory. Right now we're planning... gradual advancement, maxing out at about 1 year of play. Forward plan is 3 to 5 Waypoints per level, with each Quest Waypoint taking roughly one session to resolve. That means with regular weekly play, a group max out at little under a year, assuming that we stop at level 12.
Deeds: Deeds will also be addressed with Waypoints, as part of the post mortem when a character levels up. The characters will be quizzed on their most extreme events that level and the group will compare that to the characters known deeds. So if a character is known for robbing a caravan, but ends up nuking a town, the caravan would be struck from his deeds list and the nuke would become his new worst deed, etc...
Factions: These are part of the advanced Quest system, and so will either be part of QUESTS, or end up in their own expansion.
Tweaking Modifiers: Right now we have the modifiers for Recognition fixed. The discussion the back is whether to tweak them or not. The complications come up mostly how to apply complications if different characters have different levels of recognition. If a bartender gets three successes to know who a character is and another gets one, how do you apply the difference a single roll, there are a few options, but right now just punting and just applying a flat bonus is the easiest move so we'll stick with that until the next pass.
Finally Recognition will probably be added as a default roll, when a player enters a settlement, unless they choose to hide who they are. Making that an active roll, and active choice by the player.
